This dramatic piece took three months to construct - from
conception to finished piece (not to mention weeks to name, before hearing Jurgen Gothe play
Claude Debussy's Arabesque on CBC's Disc Drive show). It is made from 875 pieces,
434 identical wedge-shaped pieces and 441 identical rectangular pieces. The identical base
units produce a wide variety of textural surfaces that respond excitingly to shadow play.
There is also a blow-by-blow account of the
construction process and
delivery to the collector who bought it as a 5th
Wedding Anniversary present for his wife.
